The Marriage (Definition of Marriage) Amendment Act 2013 has received Royal assent and came into force on 19 August 2013. With the passing of this Act, I am now legally allowed to officiate at Gay and Lesbian Marriages.
Prior to this date, only Gay and Lesbian Civil Unions were legally recognised in New Zealand and Marriage Celebrants had to be registered as Civil Union Celebrants to officiate at those ceremonies.
I would be delighted and honoured to share my services to all loving couples, now that we have Marriage Equality in New Zealand.
